Mentoring in Missions

Date: Sept. 23, 2010, 11:30 - 1:30pm.

Subject: Mentoring in Missions
Is mentoring different from discipling, coaching, training, or supervising? How can a local church help develop missionary candidates? Is it necessary to be an experienced missionary to mentor a missionary? What are the nuts and bolts of a good mentoring relationship?

Panel: Dr. Scott Klingsmith has spent over 20 years in Eastern Europe and currently serves as missiologist-in-residence at Denver Seminary.

Pastor Glenn Pieters at Rocky Mountain Christian Church has spent the summer in Kenya as part of his course requirements for Denver Seminary.

Gwen Britton is WorldVenture's Pre-Field Coordinator, shepherding missionary appointees in partnership with their church mentors. She has also mentored students at Denver Seminary.

Please bring your own bag lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided. We begin with a time of fellowship and opportunity to network, then we'll have our panel discussion and a time for questions.
